Alligator 'Jawlene' gets new home in Florida shelter

STORY: Gatorland said it rescued the female alligator on September 16 and named her "Jawlene", inspired by Dolly Parton's country music hit "Jolene".

The rescuers said Jawlene possibly lost her upper jawline in an accident with a boat propeller or in a fight with another alligator.

"Jawlene is the cutest little thing, and she’s doing so great despite her injury", Gatorland's Crocodilian Enrichment Coordinator Savannah Boan told Reuters in a written statement.
