Alphabet and AMD, McDonald's, consumer confidence: 3 Things

Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) are scheduled to report their third quarter earnings results after Tuesday's market close

McDonald's (MCD) is out with its latest earnings print this morning, topping estimates on its top and bottom lines. The fast-food chain's US same-store sales rose by 0.3% while international sales declined by 1.5%. McDonald's has returned the Quarter Pounder to menus without the slivered onions possibly linked to the recent E. coli outbreak.

The Conference Board's latest consumer confidence reading and the US Bureau of Labor Statistics' Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) are due out later this morning.
