Police barricades after 5 attendees tested positive in Dehradun who attended Tablighi Jamaat event

Dehradun District Magistrate (DM) Ashish Kumar Srivastava has ordered community surveillance in Bhagat Singh Colony and Kargi-Grant areas on April 05. This decision was taken after five people who lived in these areas had attended Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi. They were tested positive for coronavirus. Police deployment and barricading has been done in the affected areas. While speaking to ANI, the SP of Dehradun Shweta Choubey, "Community surveillance has been ordered in these areas where the five lived. Police deployment and barricading has been done but supply of essential commodities will continue here." "Mosque, where they lived, has also been sanitized and awareness is being created among people," she added. There are total 30 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Uttarakhand including 4 cured. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 3666 in India and 109 deaths.
