A breeding program at Perth Zoo in Western Australia is showing results, the zoo said, with 50 endangered hairy marron craylings hatched in the past two years.

Footage released by the zoo shows both older and younger marrons.

Hairy marrons are a large freshwater crayfish that are endemic to the Margaret River, Perth Zoo said.

For the past two years, the zoo has been supporting the animals through the “courting, mating, and egg-laying stages”.
