Burberry among big names as London Fashion Week begins

STORY: Final touches were being made to the British Fashion Council's show space on Thursday (September 14), the day before London Fashion Week kicks off in the capital.

London is the second leg of the month-long spring/summer catwalk calendar that began in New York, and will host presentations from the likes of Burberry, JW Anderson, Erdem, Bora Aksu and Paul Costello

While smaller in terms of bigger names than fellow European fashion capitals Paris and Milan, London is known as a creative hub for emerging talent.

''London is without doubt the global creative capital. And what people are going to see over the next five days is incredible creativity, new perspectives on our industry, new business models, new ways of working. And that's why the international crowd continues to come to London,'' BFC Chief Executive Caroline Rush told Reuters.
