This food vendor carries his restaurant around town

LOCATION: Alexandria, Egypt

Emad Hamdi opened his mobile restaurant ‘The Grill’

selling sandwiches which he prepares on the spot

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) OWNER OF MOBILE RESTAURANT, EMAD HAMDI, SAYING: (WHILE MAKING SANDWICHES FOR CUSTOMERS) "I got the idea from the internet. A group of young men were doing it. They didn't last long, they stopped. So I felt like taking on the project, and getting it started again. I wanted to get a small food truck, but I couldn't afford it because of the licensing costs and things like that."

Hamdi uses the profit to support his mother and three sisters

He hopes to open his own proper restaurant one day

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) OWNER OF MOBILE RESTAURANT, EMAD HAMDI, SAYING: "My message for youth is to put in a little bit of effort, and not just stay home and say: 'We can't find work, we won't move, when God helps us we will find work.' It doesn't need to be like that. We have to try to work, in order to develop ourselves."
