Secrets of scene-stealing sweaters on 'The Goldbergs'

When costume designer Keri Smith creates one of the signature looks for the Beverly Goldberg character on the hit ABC comedy “The Goldbergs,” the iconic 1980’s sweaters must have big shoulders and lots of pizzazz.  She designs unique outfits that sparkle, with bright colors, clashing patterns, synthetic fabrics and even messages spelled out in bedazzled letters. Some are tied to holidays or show themes and others depict wild animals or three-dimensional landscape scenes.  Actress Wendi McClendon-Covey says the costumes help inform her character. (May 20)
