LA businesses prepare to cash in on Super Bowl

Businesses in Los Angeles are preparing to cash in on Super Bowl Sunday.

From bars and restaurants catering to hungry fans, to residents renting out car parking spaces,

many living nearby are hoping to make a quick buck on the NFL's championship game.

The Fiesta Martin Bar & Grill is less than a mile away from the SoFi stadium,

and chefs there have spent the last week cooking nonstop.

Esaul Martin is the owner and says he's had to hire in extra staff to prepare.

"the Super Bowl, has brought a new wave of people coming in from the city, outside of the city, outside of the state, some people, I spoke to a couple of them yesterday from out of the country. They're visiting from Italy just for the Super Bowl. So, it's pretty cool to get a, you know, to get that exposure of people coming in from all parts of the world."

Martin owns five restaurants in the Inglewood area.

His company was also chosen to cater at the games as part of the Business Connect Program.

After two years of losses due to the global health crisis, it's a welcome respite from hard times:

"All we can say finally, starting to, the restrictions are starting to be a little less now, a little bit more lenient. So, it's just a big sigh of relief for everybody."

Meanwhile, just a couple of blocks from the stadium Lisa Lacayo is preparing to rent out carpark spaces in her back drive.

"There's four in total, two of the vehicles will be here, one will be parked here...."

Evidence that it's not just businesses looking to turn a profit.

"In general, like from the last game, the parking prices out there were like at somewhere even $800. So just to compare and then for tomorrow, we're renting it out for $500."

This year's game is also forecast to be the warmest ever Super Bowl.

The U.S. National Weather Service issued a heat advisory in the Los Angeles area til Sunday.
