Boy dies after being pulled from canal in Wolverhampton

A boy has died after being pulled from a canal in Wolverhampton. Emergency services were called to Hendon Avenue in the Ettingshall area of the city after the youngster got into difficulties in the water at around 6pm yesterday (Sun). Police officers managed to pull the child out of the canal in a critical condition before paramedics began administering advanced life support. However, despite the efforts of medical staff, the boy, who has not been named, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. West Midlands Ambulance Service said they sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic.
