The Canton Police Department released a 36-minute clip on Thursday (April 25) of officers apprehending 53-year-old Tyson on the evening of April 18 at a bar.

Tyson was suspected of leaving the scene of a car accident.

Officers were seen entering the establishment, and after an altercation wrestled him to the ground.

One of them placed a knee near Tyson’s neck for about 30 seconds.

TYSON: "I can't breathe."

Local media in Cleveland say Tyson died at a local hospital, though Reuters could not immediately confirm the report. The official cause of death has not been determined.

The Canton Police Department did not immediately comment on the video. Local media say officers involved were put on administrative leave.

GEORGE FLOYD: "I can't breathe."

The incident is the latest evoking memories of George Floyd's deadly encounter with Minneapolis police four years ago, that set off massive racial justice protests in various cities in the United States and abroad.

Officers involved in Floyd’s case were eventually convicted of manslaughter and other crimes.
