Cat With Head Stuck in Jar Saved by Texas Police

A distressed cat with a jar stuck around its head amid hot temperatures was saved by police officers in Palmhurst, Texas, on August 1.

Video from the Palmhurst Police Department shows an officer throwing a jacket over the cat to catch it, and a second officer popping the container off its head.

After removing the jar, police offered the cat some food, which it licked gingerly while panting heavily under the hot summer sun.

“We’re unsure how long this poor feline had been suffering in this heat,” police said.

The cat, which was named ‘Jar Jar’ by officers, was transported to the Palm Valley Animal Society for medical evaluation, they added. Credit: Palmhurst Police Department via Storyful
