::Police arrest pro-Palestinian protesters near Chicago's Israeli consulate on DNC day 2

A demonstration near the consulate briefly turned violent after a group of about 50 separated from the larger protest and pushed against a police line. Several arrests were made, a Reuters witness said.

Eyewitness video also showed police detaining several people during scuffles on the streets near the consulate.

Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video from road layout, characteristics of nearby buildings, trees and the positioning of traffic lights which matched file and satellite imagery of the area. Reuters was able to confirm the date of the videos from the original file metadata.

Protests against the U.S. support for Israel's war in Gaza have overshadowed the convention, where the majority of speakers during the first two nights have avoided the topic.
