STORY: Police used water cannons to quell the protesters who were taking part in a rally called by the Central Clasista de Trabajadores as they threw objects against police vehicles. Police also worked to put out a fire at a construction site.

The same day, a peaceful march was organized by the Central Unitaria de Trabajadores (CUT), who presented a series of demands including wage increases, an improved healthcare system, and tax and pension reforms.

The union demands the minimum wage be raised from the current 460,000 Chilean pesos ($479) to 603,000 pesos ($628) per month before the end of president Gabriel Boric's government.
