Crowds Rush Through Gates to Escape Storm at Messi's Inter Miami CF Presentation

Fans left standing in a severe storm pushed through stadium gates in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Sunday, July 16, to enter La PresentaSíon, which welcomed Lionel Messi to Inter Miami CF.

Video by Matthew Bunch of Magic City Soccer shows fans walking through the gates to enter DRV PNK Stadium and seek shelter from the rain.

The presentation was delayed due to poor weather before commencing at 8pm.

Bunch told Storyful that security left their posts as the storm intensified, leaving people stuck at the entrance to the stadium.

Inter Miami CF officially announced the signing of the Argentine football star on Sunday, saying they are "honored to welcome Leo Messi and his family to their new home.”

Speaking at the presentation, Messi said to fans they were going to have a lot of fun and that good things will happen.
