Tokyo’s cherry blossom bus tours resume

Tokyo’s cherry blossom tours have resumed

after the city lifted its state of emergency

(SOUNDBITE) (Japanese) 50-YEAR-OLD PASSENGER AND IT FIRM EMPLOYEE, MASUMI ISHII, SAYING:

"There were cherry blossoms blooming. I have been working from home for a long time and had no chance to go out. So, this really cheered me up a lot."

Hato Bus Co. is offering around 10 trips a day

Passengers are required to wear face masks

and undergo temperature checks

(SOUNDBITE) (Japanese) TOUR CONDUCTOR OF HATO BUS CO, SATOMI YOSHIZUKA, SAYING:

"Frankly, I am very happy that we could resume this course. But, as there are still many concerns, we cannot strongly publicize and ask people to come. However, we at Hato Bus are taking measures so that our customers can attend without anxiety. I hope our customers come back to us again, probably not now but when things are more stable."
