A determined motorist drove through “intense hail” in Farmington, New York, amid a severe thunderstorm watch for several western and north-central New York counties on Monday, July 15,

The National Weather Service (NWS) said parts of the region could see wind gusts as high as 70 mph, frequent lightning, and hail up to one inch in size.
