Erupting Etna Looms Over Sicilian Town as Volcanic Activity Continues

Two bursts of volcanic activity were recorded at Mount Etna on the evening of May 25, marking the 26th and 27th eruptions at the volcano on the Italian island of Sicily in 2021.

This video, shot by Giuseppe Distefano of Etna Walk, captures close-up footage of the activity at sunset and during the night.

Distefano also shared a scene from the town of Nicolosi in Catania as locals went about their business while the eruption continued in the background.
