Ancient Egyptian boat moved to new home

This 4,600-year-old boat completed a modern-day voyage

Location: Giza, Egypt

The ancient vessel belonged to King Khufu

and is the oldest and largest wooden boat discovered in Egypt

It was moved from its longstanding home next to the Giza pyramids

to the nearby Grand Egyptian Museum

It took 48 hours to transport the cedarwood boat

which is due to be inaugurated later this year

The 138-foot-long vessel, also known as the 'Solar Boat', was discovered in 1954
