STORY: Athletics made its return with the first in a series of 'Back on the Track' meets on Monday (June 1) in Kladno, Czech Republic with two-time Olympic women's javelin champion Barbora Spotakova beginning her season with a win.

The gold medallist in Beijing 2008 and London 2012 managed a best throw of 63.69m to finish ahead of 2018 European silver medallist Nikola Ogrodnikova.

In the men's shot put, Tomas Stanek, who came fourth at the 2017 World Championships, claimed first prize with his second attempt of 21.13m.

Athletics follows tennis in making a return in Czech Republic following the coronavirus outbreak after two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova won an all-Czech tournament in Prague last week.
