Three people, including a child, were rescued by a HM Coastguard helicopter after getting caught in flooding in North Wales.

In a statement on January 22, the Coastguard said the incident happened near Wrexham and the search and rescue helicopter had been called as part of a wider emergency response to floods across the area.

Chief Pilot Dave Kenyon said: “This was a challenging winching scenario in terms of where the people were. They were on a ledge by the roof, with debris falling and being washed away all around them. We’re delighted that all three were got out safe and well, and handed into the care of the other emergency services.” Credit: Maritime and Coastguard Agency via Storyful
