'Could Have Been Disastrous': Unmanned Jet Ski Crashes Into Boat Ramp

Marine and Safety Tasmania were warning of the dangers of swimming near boat ramps after video from March 20 showed a person narrowly avoiding an out-of-control jet ski in New Norfolk.

MAST general manager Peter Hopkins told the ABC it was “amazing” no one was hurt in the incident, which saw an unmanned jet ski plow into the dock seconds after a young male ran out of the way.

“This was a situation that could have been disastrous … please don’t swim within the vicinity of the ramp,” the safety authority said on Facebook. Credit: Marine and Safety Tasmania via Storyful
