Dozens of Homes Damaged as Tornadoes Hit French Villages

Dozens of buildings in the northern French villages of Bihucourt and Hendecourt-les-Cagnicourt were damaged after two tornadoes hit on Sunday, October 23, according to local media

Footage recorded by TikTok user @flavhzd shows damage to a church and neighboring building in Bihucourt. The footage also shows roof tiles lying in the source’s yard.

@flavhzd told Storyful that his neighbor had seen the tornado coming directly towards their houses but that it changed direction at the last minute, damaging the church.

He added that some houses in the village were much worse-hit than his. "We saw houses open in two. You had the walls on one side and the roof lying on the ground,” he said.

A separate tornado hit the nearby village of Hendecourt-les-Cagnicourt on Sunday. Local authorities said homes there were damaged too. Credit: @flavhzd via Storyful
