A police helicopter in northwest England battled against strong winds from Storm Dudley on the evening of February 16.

This video, posted on Twitter by the National Police Air Service (NPAS) North West Region, shows a police helicopter on a rocky ride through Manchester.

“The helicopter had taken off from our base at NPAS Barton (Manchester). It had been tasked to assist Cheshire Police in a missing person search in the Macclesfield area. The footage was taken whilst the crew were en route and were flying over the Sale area of Manchester,” a spokesperson for NPAS North West told Storyful.

Storm Dudley was the first of two back-to-back storms in the UK, with Storm Eunice due to arrive on Friday. The Met Office issued a rare red warning ahead of Storm Eunice’s arrival and predicted wind gusts of up to 90 mph (around 145 km/h). Credit: NPAS North West Region via Storyful
