'It's Flappy Time!': Rescued Baby Bat Can't Stop Wriggling

2 年前

A rescued baby bat simply couldn’t stop wriggling around in her carer’s hand in Rochedale South, Queensland, footage shared online shows.

The footage was posted by Denise Wade, who has been caring for injured baby bats for more than a decade.

“Baby Sienna is our first orphan in care this season and I am very happy to report that this season’s orphan intake resembles more of a trickle than the avalanche we usually experience. Now approaching two weeks of age, Sienna is still sleeping most of the time and only really wakes up to feed, flap and search for a lost dummy,” Wade wrote in a YouTube caption from October 19.

Wade took Sienna in after the baby bat’s mother was attacked by a raptor and became aggressive towards the newborn.

Thankfully, Sienna is now enjoying a fulfilling life at Wade’s home in Rochedale South.

“It’s flappy time!” Wade says in the video as the baby bat squirms around in her hand.
