Golf Course Turkey Undeterred by Lunch That Bites Back

A man playing golf in Novato, California, was probably expecting a different kind of birdie when he spotted a turkey hunting a snake near one of the greens.

Footage recorded by Ramzy Hattar last May shows the turkey repeatedly pecking at the snake, and remaining undeterred as the snake snaps back as it attempts to escape.

Hattar told Storyful that he was visiting his family in Novato and decided to play a round at Marin Country Club, where he had the strange wildlife encounter.

He said that the bird ended up killing the snake, but that its victory was short lived, as a hawk “swooped down and stole the snake from the turkey.” Credit: Ramzy Hattar via Storyful
