Japanese PM promises to never again wage war

Attending the ceremony this year were 787 people, including 592 family members of victims of the war.

The anniversary commemoration was linked to Yasukuni Shrine, a site that honors 14 Japanese wartime leaders convicted as war criminals by an Allied tribunal, as well as war dead. Kishida sent an offering to the central Tokyo shrine without visiting, Kyodo news agency reported.
