Long truck lines after U.S. suspends Juarez crossing

STORY: Long queues of cargo trucks have formed at the Bridge of the Americas on the U.S.-Mexico border between El Paso, Texas, and the Mexican city of Juarez. Truck drivers are reportedly waiting up to five hours to cross.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Friday (September 15) said a "temporary suspension" of cargo processing starting Monday (September 18) would allow its officers at the site to assist Border Patrol in processing migrants arriving outside official crossings.

Mexico's foreign ministry said in a statement it was monitoring the situation after the "unilateral" decision taken by the U.S.
