The Wellesley Police Department in Massachusetts said they reunited a family with their allegedly stolen black Labrador puppy on July 25.

Police said the 8-month-old dog, named Ember, was taken from a family’s front yard on July 22. Officers tracked down the suspects by identifying a vehicle that had circled the home before the dog’s disappearance.

Wellesley detectives and officers, working with Framingham Police officers, found Ember on July 25 and charged two Framingham residents with receiving stolen property over $1,200 and conspiracy, officials said.

Illana Nissenbaum, one of the dog’s owners, told local media, "We were heartbroken and we just wanted to know that she was okay.”
