No change to Taiwan "strategic ambiguity"- Biden

STORY: Asked if there had been any change to the policy after remarks on Monday (May 23) where he volunteered U.S. military support for the self-governed island claimed by China, Biden said "No." He also did not answer a question about whether he would put troops on the ground to defend Taiwan.

The issue of Taiwan is looming over a meeting in Tokyo of leaders of the Quad grouping of the United States, Japan, Australia and India, who have stressed their determination to ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific region in the face of an increasingly assertive China.
