Panda Bei Bei enjoys farewell treats

The agreement specifies that once a panda reaches the age of four, they must be returned to China for breeding purposes.

A panda keeper and veterinarian will travel with Bei Bei to ensure his health and wellness during the flight. Loads of his favorite treats - bamboo, apples, pears, carrots, biscuits and water - will also accompany the panda.

Bei Bei was born at the National Zoo on August 22, 2015 and has been living separately from his mother Mei Xiang since March 2017.
