Pangolin rescued from smugglers in India

Divisional Forest Officer Sasmita Lenka said the pangolin was in an ill condition, and was kept under observation before being released into the forest.

She added that 13 smugglers have been arrested over the past year in cases related to the smuggling of pangolins.

Pangolins are listed as the "threatened" species under IUCN red list and are smuggled for their meat, medicinal use, and luxury goods.
