A park ranger came to the rescue of dozens of baby turtles in Queensland after they became trapped in their nest by matted grass.

This video uploaded by Queensland National Parks (qldparks) on Tuesday, March 2, shows Ranger Sonya scooping the newly hatched turtles from the sand and safely sending them on their way.

In the accompanying caption, Queensland National Parks said: “Nesting turtles can dig and upend dune vegetation and unfortunately this means grass and other vegetation can get pushed on top of a nest, potentially trapping the emerging hatchlings.” Credit: qldparks via Storyful
