Merseyside Police in Liverpool, England, launched an investigation after “a number of items were thrown” at a Real Madrid team bus prior to a football match against Liverpool FC on April 14.

“We can confirm an investigation is underway after damage was caused to the Real Madrid team bus this evening as it approached Anfield stadium ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League match with Real Madrid,” said police chief superintendent Zoe Thornton.

About 400 people were on Anfield Road, Thornton said, “and as coaches approached, a number of items were thrown at the Real Madrid team bus … the disgraceful behavior of those involved this evening is extremely disappointing and totally unacceptable.”
