Response teams drill after nuclear plant shelling

STORY: Journalists were invited to observe the drills and the authorities said the drills will be repeated in the coming days.

The Ukrainian minister of energy, Herman Halushchenko, said that his government was very concerned about the safety of the Russian-occupied nuclear power plant in Enerhodar, located some 31 miles from Ukrainian-held Zaporizhzia.

"The situation, from when they (Russian army) started shelling on the 5th of August, has changed dramatically," Halushchenko said.

He urged the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to show impartiality and not close its eyes in front of the security situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.

Ukraine and Russia have said they want IAEA inspectors to visit the facility and the agency's chief Rafael Grossi has said he is ready to lead a mission.
