Satellite imagery from Japan’s Himawari satellite shows the undersea volcanic explosion that triggered tsunami warnings for Australia, New Zealand, US, Japan, and several South Pacific islands on January 15.

The Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai eruption led to continued communication issues on Monday, according to reports, making it difficult to know the impact the eruption had on Tonga.
