Seven People and Dog Rescued From Burning Boat in Gulf of Mexico

The US Coast Guard deployed air and boat crews to rescue seven people and their dog from a flaming vessel off the coast of Gulfport, Mississippi, on May 21.

Aerial footage shows people dressed in red life vests leaving a burning boat. A raft is dropped and the boaters and dog scramble aboard before being brought onto a Coast Guard vessel.

Local media reported that the boat’s occupants had issued a mayday call for assistance at 9:26 am on May 21. A Coast Guard spokesman told local media that the boaters and dog were taken to Gulfport to be medically evaluated and were in stable condition.
