Spectacular aurora show lights up Swedish skies

Multiple arches of the aurora borealis were seen between 9-10 P.M. local (2000-2100GMT) over the snow-covered landscape at Pajala, near the Sweden-Finland border.

At times, the dancing northern lights had rare red pulses.

According to the local photographer who captured the scene, a Finnish aurora guide brought spectators over the Finnish border to enjoy the unusual display.
