STORY: Telsa is lobbying Ontario to set up an “advanced manufacturing facility”

That's according to a filing by the company to the province's Office of the Integrity Commissioner

The Canadian government is currently in talks with “a number of players” to develop an EV supply chain

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company “might be able” to announce a new factory later this year

And added that the company could ultimately have 10-12 gigafactories

Tesla manufactures vehicles from two factories in the U.S. and one each in Germany and China

U.S. electric vehicle makers are also looking to diversify supply chains and lower their dependence on China

Tesla and Ontario’s minister for economic development did not immediately respond to requests for comment
