A tram depot and surrounding structures caught on fire after Russian strikes hit the Saltivka district of Kharkiv at around 5 pm on August 16, according to officials.

The Kharkiv Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that shelling came from the Russian-occupied region of Lyptsi using a “Tornado” missile system. The office added that a pre-trial investigation was started under the “fact of violation of the laws and customs of war” by Russian forces.

This footage shows first responders arriving to the scene where several trams were charred as heavy smoke billowed into the air. Reports also said that a fire at a nearby garage cooperative grew to approximately 100 square meters.
