Turtle hatchlings spotted at South Carolina beach

STORY: The footage was filmed by a local wildlife volunteer group, Folly Beach Turtle Watch Program, who described it as a "surprise emergence" in a Facebook post.

The group added they had found 96 nests in the current nesting season, with 61 of them still undergoing an incubation period in an infographic dated August 9.

Authorities in the city of Folly Beach have said the beach is frequented by loggerhead turtles, which are classified as an endangered species by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a U.S. governmental agency. The turtles typically nest from May to October.
