A fire that broke out south of the massive Smokehouse Creek Fire on Sunday, March 3, led to a temporary eviction order for the town of Sandford as it grew to affect 300 acres.

The Texas A&M Forest Service said the “forward progression” of the Roughneck Fire was stopped by Sunday evening, with 25 percent containment.

No homes were reported lost.
