Flash Flooding Causes Travel Disruption in Southeast Florida

A series of storms brought rain and flash flooding to southeast Florida on December 23, prompting the temporary closure of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

The National Weather Service (NWS) said floodwater was slow to recede in parts of Miami-Dade and Broward counties after the overnight storms, prompting the extension of a flood advisory.
