French teenager arrested for 8kg of cocaine hidden in chocolate balls at Brazilian airport

A 19-year-old French national was arrested at Rio de Janeiro's Galeao International Airport for carrying around 8 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside chocolate bonbons. Federal police officers found the white powder inside the chocolates during a routine inspection of her checked baggage ahead of her flight to Nice via Paris. The young woman was taken to prison on remand and could be charged with international drug trafficking, which carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison
