Thousands of American football fans appeared in Dublin, Ireland, on Friday, August 23, ahead of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic between the Florida State University (FSU) Seminoles and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The annual event, part of a promotional campaign that celebrates “football, business links, and culture,” was expected to draw over 25,000 US football fans to the city ahead of the sell-out game. More than 47,000 tickets had been purchased for Saturday’s matchup, according to organizers.

Footage filmed by Steven Johnsen shows FSU fans demonstrating the Tomahawk Chop. The celebratory gesture refers to their team name, the Seminoles, a Native Florida tribe with whom the university says it has a “unique and collaborative friendship.”
