Demonstrators lay on the ground for eight minutes and 46 seconds at a park in Homewood, Alabama, on Tuesday, June 2, to protest police brutality following the officer-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

According to reports, hundreds of protesters gathered in Homewood Central Park and lay on the ground for eight minutes and 46 seconds while George Floyd’s final words echoed around the park. Two people were detained at the protest but were subsequently released, police said.
