A video released by NATS, the United Kingdom’s air traffic control provider, shows an 89 percent fall in traffic on April 8 compared with the equivalent date in 2019.

The flight-tracking website Flightradar24 said on March 29 that it had tracked a 41 percent fall in global commercial air traffic in the last two weeks of March, compared to the same period in 2019.

The coronavirus pandemic has had a dramatic impact on the aviation industry. The Airports Council International said on April 1 that it could reduce airport revenues by half in 2020 and that it presents an “existential threat” to the airport business. Credit: NATS via Storyful
