'Bambi's Free': Young Deer Trapped in Fence Freed By Georgia Deputy

A young, distressed deer that was wedged between the bars of a fence was freed with help from a Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputy in Georgia in early November.

Body-worn camera footage shared by the sheriff’s office on November 16 shows a deputy approaching a deer and grabbing a hold of its hind legs. The deer thrashes its body and makes loud, strained noises as the deputy pushes the animal through the fence, allowing it to run away.

“There he goes. Bambi’s free,” the deputy says in the video. “I just didn’t know who else to call,” a relieved bystander says in response. Credit: Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
