A 75-year-old man suffered a head injury after he was shoved and fell to the ground during protests held at Niagara Square, in Buffalo, New York, on June 4.

Two officers involved in the incident were suspended without pay, according to a statement from Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown.

The man was in a “stable but serious condition,” the statement read.

The incident occurred during a protest against police brutality which was held “illegally” after the enforced city curfew, Brown said.
