Daegu Residents Queue Around Block for Masks as Coronavirus Outbreak Grips Korea

Queues wrapped around city blocks to buy masks in South Korea’s fourth-largest city of Daegu on February 24 as the number of deaths and confirmed cases of coronavirus increased in the country and officials stepped up quarantine efforts.

Korean authorities announced on February 25 that they were going to toughen up quarantine efforts in Daegu, however they have stopped short of enforcing a lockdown. Residents have been advised to stay indoors and wear masks by local officials.
