Dog Waits on Newfoundland Shoreline Until Owners Bring Her on Their Fishing Trip

This dog insisted on joining her owners on a fishing trip in Bellburns, Newfoundland. In a video posted to Reddit on June 20, Jessie — a 6-year-old poodle terrier mix — jumps aboard after waiting for the vessel to come close enough to shore.

Bellburns is a fishing village in Newfoundland with less than a hundred people, and it’s likely that most of them are familiar with Jessie, with Redditor bibread telling Storyful that the dog “usually roams free around the town.”

This time, Jessie roamed to the shoreline where a family lobster fishing trip was just about to begin. According to bibread, Jessie “usually” turns around when she realizes she won’t be going out to sea. This was thought to be the case again, “until we saw her on the high rocks along our fishing route ten minutes later.”

Jessie followed the boat’s path from the shoreline, “until we decided it was too risky to have her follow us the rest of the fishing route. My father being the experienced fishermen he is was able to safely maneuver us along the dangerous rocks to pick her up.”

The Reddit user added, that Jessie “was very joyful the entire ride and was excited that she could follow us on yet another adventure.” Credit: bibread via Storyful
